Tanielu because he has been good. He is good at sport. He listens to the teacher.

Tennis and Rippa Rugby

This morning we went to tennis. The coach was Marcel. Our team was Chelsea and Tevita and myself. We versed other teams and we lost against all of them, and some of them cheated. After tennis we went to ripper rugby. There were lots of running, passing, tagging and shouting. The coach was Hamish.

Planets

Yesterday we were learning about the solar system. One of the things we were learning about was how the planets go’s anti-clockwise around the sun. Mrs Lagitupu got out some balloons for the planets . One of the things she told us was how Earth was the only planet with living things in the solar system. One of the thins that she told us was that Pluto was a dwarf planet. And that Pluto was the farthest from the sun and Venus was the closest to the sun and that Venus rotates around the sun the fastest in the solar system. After that when we finished we put the tables back to where they were.

Tennis

In the morning we went to the court to play tennis. When we got there we saw a man and his name was Marcel. Then we had to get a partner. My partner was Junior. I had to hit the ball with the racket and Junior had to throw the ball. I felt good because it was fun. One of the new things that he showed us was how to bounce a ball on your racket and flip it in the same time. It was a little bit hard to. The other thing he told us was that we had to bounce the ball on the ground seventy times but it was fun too. When we finished we went back to class.

AFL

Yesterday was the last week of A.F.L when we got there we got to play a game on the field. The game that we played was kiwi kick. It was fun at the game and the side that I was on won. I was tired when we got back from A.F.L. The man’s name was Mike and he told us how to play.

England in the RWC

Life Caravan

Last week on Thursday Room 21 went to the life caravan to learn about putting the right things into your body. Lynne told us about drugs too. Some of the drugs that we were learning about was cocaine, weed and alcohol.

She told us about how our body works and that drugs can affect your body. You could get amputated. In the life caravan Room 21 was watching videos of people talking and they showed a body that was left on the ground lying down dead. Some of the videos was about a man and how his friends took drugs and some of his friends died.

Cross country

Last week on Wednesday we had cross country. The Intermediate kids had a race. We had to meet at the courts. We had to sit down in lines. Ms Vaafusuaga got the year 7 girls to go on the field to start the race. Then the year 7 boys did the race. I felt excited.

We ran to the Pt England reserve. Then we ran onto this path that went past the farm. I ran past some people but I can't remember who. I could see Dominic, Samson and Unaloto. I saw Mr Jacobsen, Mrs Clarke and Ms Tito.

When I finished the race I could see people standing there talking and walking. I felt tired. I was happy to finish the race. It was really long.

NZ

We have been learning about the Rugby World Cup. NZ is hosting the Rugby World Cup this year.

The Road show

Last term our class went to the Science Road Show with some other classes. The Road Show was held at the Tamaki College hall. There were other classes that came from a different school to watch.

At the road show there were lots of machines that we saw at the road show. There was a man and a lady that told us about our eyes, ears, and nose. The lady was telling us about cold and hot. They told us how a re-fridgerator works. One of the machines that I went on was this box that had a switch that can turn it on or off and it can glow. After the road show it was 3:00pm and it was time to go home.

Woodwork at Tamaki tech

On Monday it was the 8th of June at Tamaki tech. I went to wood work. I chose to make a truck. Our teacher is Mr Grundy, he gave us a piece of wood, but first we had to design it on paper and measure it. When I got my wood I had to measure it and then I had to saw it off. Mr Grundy told us how to use a chisel with a mallet. It was almost time to go back to school.

Every one was out side waiting to go home and then my teacher took us back to school. When we got back to school it was morning tea time. Next week is the last week at Tamaki Tech for the term. The things I need to finish on my truck is the wheels. Next week is the last week at woodwork and I am going to be finished.

How to put up a tent

When a tent is put up (pitched) correctly then people can use it to sleep in.

Equipment: Pegs, poles, cover, rope, base(floor), mallet, bag.

Method:
Step 1:look for a good place.

Step 2:put the base on the grass.

Step 3:hammer the pegs to the tent.

Step 4: Attach the poles to the tent

Step 5:Tie the strings to the poles.

Step 6: Put the cover over the tent.

Step 7: Peg the cover to the ground.

Step 8: Make sure the tent is safe to sleep in.

My pet

My pet name is called Zamick he lives in the island of Nammick. He is a super hero with super powers. He can fly fast with his dragon wings and he can throw fire balls and his favourite place to go is Ice-cream Land, because he likes to eat ice cream.

Immersion

In Mrs lagitupus class we had to use our Imagination. We had to draw our own imaginary pet and island. I named my pet Zammick he lives in the island of Namick. He has super powers and he can fly.

In Ms Tito’s class we learnt about creativity. We had to draw letters for our name.

Honesty movie

This term we had to make a movie about one of the Pt England values. The value my group picked was 'honesty'. Its really important to be honest. Our teacher helped us to put our movie together. I hope you like our movie.

Camp

At camp my favorite things was Rock Up, kayaking and Swimarama. On Tuesday we did Rock Up. The thing that I liked the most was the dunker, because it was hot and the water was cool and I got wet. On Monday we went kayaking. It was fun and we got to swim.

At the camp concert Junior’s group was doing the horse dance, it was funny. On Tuesday at Rock Up we did rock climbing, archery, ski boarding, alligator ally, and the dunking tank. For lunch we ate hot dogs and for dinner we had burgers. On Wednesday we went to Swimarama. We watched some of the students do races, then we could go and have fun. I went on the water slide, and the diving board and did lots of swimming. I really loved camp.

All about Me

Hi my name is Sosaia and I am in Year 7 at Pt England School. I am in Room 21.

I am Tongan. I have 2 brothers and four sisters. My favourite sport is touch rugby. My favourite TV programme is Dragon Ball Z. This year I am looking forward to going to camp.

My friends are Patrick, Junior, Brennan, and Ben from room 22.
